“Position one gets 10 times more clicks than position 10” according to a new report by Atlas DMT. Hardly surprising and amazingly worthless information. This article contains some good debate from Search Engine Marketers in the US. Simply that other factors should be used to decide the PPC strategy rather than position.
My twopeneth worth is that your max bid should dictate your top position but don’t forget creative. You can get a better share of the clicks in second position than first if your copy is written well. Plus what’s the point of getting ten times the traffic if you can’t afford the higher cost per acquisition that this may generate?
