Google+ gets a hard time from the online community and, posts of its demise are a regular occurrence with the stats showing it as a social media “ghost town“. Indeed, Google itself has admitted that the platform is being split into Photos and Streams.
I’ve personally been a big fan of Google+ and over the years have started to use it more than Twitter for industry related content and posting. Those 140 characters just aren’t enough for me.
So it was with some surprise that I saw the launch of Collections for Google+. This new functionality basically adds a little Pinterest to Google’s social media platform, allowing users to group content into bespoke “collections”..
Setting up collections is surprisingly easy – there is a great guide here – but I wonder if the drop in user engagement means the product will struggle to get off the ground.
